Welcome to the Field of Honor Memorial in Glendale — a breathtaking tribute to the heroes who embody courage, sacrifice, and service above self.
From May 19–25, 2026, the entrance of Forest Lawn Glendale will be transformed into a stunning sea of red, white, and blue. One thousand American flags, each mounted on an 8-foot pole, will stand proudly in perfect formation — creating a powerful and moving experience for all who visit.
This is more than a display.
It is a place of reflection.
A place of gratitude.
A place of unity.
Honor a Hero. Share Their Legacy.
The Field of Honor offers a meaningful way to recognize:

The serene setting of Forest Lawn provides the perfect backdrop for remembrance and reflection.
“The beautiful, serene and meditative setting of Forest Lawn Glendale is a fitting location for our community to join in remembrance and honoring of our heroes – those who have and are serving in the military and as public safety first-responders and those who have lost their lives in service to others – a place to walk among the posted flags and remember what makes us great – service above self.”
— David Viar, Retired Superintendent/President, Glendale Community College

Join Us
Sponsor a flag.
Visit the field.
Honor a hero.
Together, we will create a powerful tribute that inspires reflection, gratitude, and hope — for our heroes and for the generations to come.
We look forward to welcoming you.

The Field of Honor was started nine years ago under the guidance of Rotary President Tom Probst (retired Glendale Fire Battalion Chief) as an effort to celebrate and respect the lives of our Veterans.
Thank you to Forest Lawn Glendale for collaborating in addition to being able to once again honor our heroes. We are confident we have partnered with a compassionate company who are trailblazers in outreach and engagement in communities they serve. Thank you Forest Lawn Glendale.
We hope you will join us by sponsoring a flag, by attending the May 26 program, and more importantly, recognizing someone you care about with a flag. Additionally, funds from this event will support the community programs that Rotary so passionately sponsors, including those for Veterans.
Without your participation, none of this would be possible. Your grateful community thanks you.
